I attended the concealed handgun license course with Krav Maga DFW and wanted to give a hearty thank you. I had intended to apply for this license for quite some time but couldn’t bring myself to sit through a ten hour weekend meeting in some cramped, dank room while forcing interest in a government-generated presentation. Congratulations are in order not just because we had a successful CHL experience, but because it was a great way to spend the day and very rewarding. In typical KMDFW fashion, we had a dynamic, compelling instructor who covered the material and related it in context of his depth of experience as a father, a police officer and a soldier. The context provided much needed perspective and the open format made the material come alive while the discussion brought so many of the important issues into sharp focus. When range and classroom testing was complete, we learned the basics of Israeli point method shooting using air-guns. Here is where we worked on concealing the arms properly, drawing them quickly and firing from a
stable platform while differentiating friends from enemies. Then we got to do it all again under stress to see what we’d really learned. That’s all great fun, but more importantly it made all that we’d covered much more real. There are countless choices for completing the requirements for a CHL in the state of Texas. I’m confident no others will immediately couple the instruction with the experience of deploying that force under stress. Not only was the KMDFW CHL course great fun, but by using this knowledge immediately the lessons learned are more internalized; giving me a stronger basis
for responsibly carrying a firearm. Thanks for a great day and top notch instruction all around!
Sincerely,
Jonathan Sewell
